Let me see a photo of your breadboard so I easily see the connections please. At the very least the LED should have come on steady may not shutoff with second press.

What number transistor are you using?
The connections don't look correct.
The 2n3906...
Yeah, is a little confusing, but that's the area that I really did pay attention to, cause there are a few connection between components. How I said, I did check carefully.
I could try to make it easier to make out the connection's..

Looking at the front flat side the emitter is on the left, base in the middle.
That's how I assumed the connection, the emiter connect's to pin 6 of 555 the collector connect's to R4, C2 positive side and to the positive rail. That is how it is connectedPolish_20230623_231432341.jpg

Ok, I will try that...
Ok, I turned the transistor around.
At first try, I click twice and the LED turn on, then I have to click 4 times in order to turn it off. Sometime I turned it on with 1 click but after a second it goes off. The pattern repeats, 1 or 2 click's on 4 to turn it off and sometimes it goes off after just a second or so.Polish_20230623_233701255.jpg

What happens if you hold the button down until the LED comes on then release, same for turning off
I tried that, it turns on ok, once I hold the button to turn it off, it flick once every couple seconds as long I hold the button. I repeat it a few times, it then luck up, couldn't turn off. I had to recycle the power to start again.

I don't see the emitter connected to the 5 volt rail.
You are correct, so I connected the yellow cable to it.
Now, once I power it on, I click and the LED comes on, but I can't turn it off. I have to recycle the power in order to try again, it keeps doing the same.IMG_20230624_000631.jpg

Ok, I will see if I have one.
I will get back to you tomorrow... Thank you, appreciated very much your time.
Good night.
Funny, I just tried with the 103 cap. Some unusual behavior.
Because I have a light overhead, once my hand blocks the light to the LED, the LED turns off if it is on, if it's on it turns off. Also it flicker if I move my hand around blocking and unblocking the overhead lights.
