Job to make out exactly what they are?
Looks similar to a dove?
Max.
Those are called Chachalacas, and they're noisy and annoying scavengers. They normally hang out in gangs, and can be as large as a small turkey, although they're perfectly capable of flight. I'll ask my wife to take a picture of them when they're roaming in my backyard when she can.

Edit: Oh, ya. Spinner Ghosted me soon after I began posting on this site. We engaged in PM's with Mods onboard and we both agreed to dis-agree mutually back then, now I don't care since his recent health issues. I wish him good health.

Good point. I will add some practical points to my periodic in-house gun training: guns are not to be used when you are emotionally compromised. Let Dexter, I mean Daddy, handle such things.
Nice rule but people go for what ever tool that's in their toolbox to fix a problem. That's why my 3-pound sledge hammer gets locked in my son's trunk when I do delicate work - rebuild an antique clock movement, or rebuild motorcycle carburetors, or ...

True. I will have to extend the concept to include sledge hammers, knives, pointy sticks, clay planters, scissors, etc.

I'm not sure you have to lock up the items that would get a laugh - I remember the Tree Stooges had a clay planter in one of their bits. You will be ok with a clay planter sans trigger lock.
