Ugh! As a parent, all I can see is “broken neck”.
Thank God, he's never even been remotely close to seriously hurting himself. All he's got once was a twisted ankle. And we, as parents, eventually need to learn to trust our own children. But yes, for a while I was just as apprehensive as you seem to be.

Here's a curious picture. We took this today while visiting friends on vacation. We had 2 kids taking pictures with 2 cameras at the same time. My theory is that while this camera was scanning pixels line-by-line (very fast but not fast enough), the flash from the other camera went off, so half the picture is flash exposed and the other half not. What are the chances of that? Ever seen this before?

I would say that the camera on the right was with the flash that as both pictures were being snapped one on left couldn't clean the white balance or it would have made the normal part of the frame to dark. Only thing I could see that would have made this better, is more lighting in the area that the camera has already adjusted for and flash was lower then the rest. Also if an SLR was use it could have had a Filter that would have kept that down. However most times Filter wasn't needed because lighting inside was found under or normal. Had something kind of like this with my Nikon a few years ago.

I don't follow. What I posted is one picture from one camera (Samsung galaxy s8 phone camera) and has not been edited or spliced in any way. It was not using flash. There was a kid standing next to this camera with a dslr with flash taking pictures at the same time. I think this Samsung phone camera picked up the flash from the dslr but only on one side of the image.

Sorry I guess wasn't able to exact what I was saying to be understood. However that was what I was trying to say....

Camera on Right with Flash.
Camera or Phone on Left without
Pictures taken at same time
Picture on Phone was Balanced then washed out by flash.
I haven't been able to reinvent what happened in my picture and I wasn't trying to say that there was any Photoshop or editing going on.

Guess this is why I try to stay out of things that is non of my business...

None of your business? Nonsense! It's a public post and anyone is welcome to comment. Thanks for your input!
