What are "normal ones".
In general a flyback converter is likely less efficient than other types of switching converters.

 

These sound like homework questions to me...

 

The existing USB docking stations with power delivery does not use the flyback converter in it. I was just wondering if there are any advantages of using flyback converter instead of other buck-boost converters that are available in market(ex: MPS regulators). But, if they are likely less efficient then i think i can drop this idea.

 

This paper shows how flyback converter along with TDM helps to achieve true power sharing. Also, there is a efficiency improvement claim.
