Hello everyone,

For quite some time now, the four windows of my 2006 VW Polo have not been working. After a long troubleshooting process, I came to the conclusion that it must be due to a defective circuit board in the window regulator control unit, which is located in the driver’s door.
On YouTube, I saw two videos where people re-soldered the joints, which made the power windows work again. So I tried the same, but unfortunately without success—they still didn’t work afterward. I then replaced the IC chip as well, but it still didn’t solve the problem. At this point, I’m starting to doubt whether the circuit board is really the cause.
That’s why I wanted to ask here if anyone has experience with this issue or if someone could help me find a wiring diagram for this circuit board, so I can test it myself using a variable power supply.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,
EnKo

The power window controls unit that was being manufactured in the factory I worked for, used the CANBUS.
EDIT, looked up the IC, it is a “jungle IC” with a LIN transceiver, another automotive BUS, but used mostly in low-priority peripherals.
What makes you think it is defective?

I got a tip by someone who said that if the windows are working when the temperatures outside are high and if they are not, when it is cold, then it is possible that the IC chip is defective.

that could be due anything.... even PCB itself (micro crack). to find the culprit one can deliberately apply heat/cold to find the problem.

Note that if you use that spray to cool the board it can cause components to go to well below any normal ambient temperatures, so it could cause the IC to fail, even though it would still work at a typical cold ambient.
