Things that go "BEEP!" in the night...

Nah. Being about 99% sure the beeping isn't coming from any of my electronic gadgets, I'll probably be able to just ignore it from here on.

I'll tell ya, though, what IS hard to ignore is when he and his GF are enjoying a "Cialis Moment." They make a LOT of noise...

Are you going to take a wack at it ? :D
Apparently his neighbor is already hard at it.

Can you place your ear on the wall when you hear it? Or does it happen too fast?
The beeps are less than a second long, with 10-15 minutes between beeps. At this point, I'm 99% sure it isn't coming from anything of mine, so I don't care; I'll just ignore it anymore.

I was just telling my wife we could sell the house and retire in a new "over 55" apartment/condo complex under development nearby. Your Cialis comment just ended that idea. Thank you for the warning - I completely forgot about the "joys" of apartment living.

Patio home.

There is a real nice place not far from you in Zeli. My buddy is considering moving there.

For several weeks, a subtle beeping not following a discernible pattern drove me crazy until one day, with my Nextel mobile on the night table I found it trying to enter the Web. Worth to note that that service is not enabled for my line. Resetting did work occasionally. Very quiet in the last week.

The modern ones they are building around here, they are pretty well insulated now,
I would not hesitate to trim the carpet back and install a second layer of wall designed to reject sound transmission. (I know because I did it.)
I can't quite guess whether tcmtech would be doing the same thing in his apartment (actually, a togetherment).

It could be the cordless phone out of the cradle, when it's low on battery.

Once I had the cordless phone placed elsewhere in the living room, it made a loud beeping noise (two not-so-short beeps per minute) which I thought it was the neighbour's car. Turned out after listening around, I found my phone with the display shouting "low battery".

Are you suggesting the "Forest" technique for OBW0549 when he see the neighbors. ;)
ROFLMAOF :D

Darn ! Tht was better than taking a wack at it or the neighbor. :D

I seriously wonder how we all tend to get "off" the topic from time to time. But I admit that this, shares a lot of humor and enjoyment in reading through a thread. :p

A lot of us multi-thousand posters have become comfortable with each other. AAC is not so much a bunch of nerds competing with and criticizing each other as it is helping the noobie nerds (and sometimes each other), and enjoying break time in Off Topic.:)

FOUND IT!!!

My Verizon FIOS fiber-to-cable converter box, wall-mounted in a closet in the back room, is begging for a new 12V 8 A-H SLA backup battery. I was rooting around in the closet looking for something this morning, with my ear about a foot away from the converter box, when BEEP!!!! It was damned loud.

So I hit the SILENCE ALARM button, and haven't heard a beep since.
