Switching flipper coils with MOSFET

I suspect this is what is happening. The 10k is just a guess. Between the CPU connection and switch would either be your black / blue or black / green wire. The GND would then be your orange.

When the switch contact is made the signal to the CPU gets shorted to ground and the CPU reads 0 volts. When the switch is open the CPU would see VCC. The 10k resistor limits the current and makes it possible.
