I think I will buy this board,
https://www.amazon.com/DAOKI-Decode...ower+Supply+++USB+Cable&qid=1621438475&sr=8-1

Based on the specs of the board and the info everyone has given me, I will need to do the following:
- Use a TF card to connect my MP3 file to the board
- Step down the power the board receives from 12V to 5V (with a USB interface providing the power)
- Connect 4 speakers in a circuit to the board
- Have 3 buttons for control
- 2 for volume up/down
- 1 for play/pause which will also be connected to the repeat button and main power

If my assumptions are correct this means that when the power button is pressed the song will play and if also connected to the repeat function it will continue in a loop until power is turned off. 2 separate buttons for volume up and down will be also be added, unless a dial option is possible?

If someone could please advise me if my assumptions are correct I'd very much appreciate it

Thanks Again,

Jacob

Don't sweat over it. For the price, buy it and try it out.
Most modules I have seen requires one to press a pushbutton to start the sound output.
This one claims to be able to start when the power is applied.

Order it from the .ca site.

Ok, that's a fair point. Do you not think I should order from the US site since its cheaper and looks identical?

In your opinion, if I wire the play and repeat function together, would that create a loop in the music when the power is on?

If you are in Canada, order from the Canada site.

I doubt it. You wouldn't know until you try it.

I'm heading to the US for a couple months on the weekend so going to order most of my components there and bring them back to Canada for assembly afterwards.

Ok, its no biggie but would be good if it does

In that case you can wait till you get to the US and order it from there and have it delivered to your US destination.

Just one more detail..
Ok, thanks for the info, I'll look for a higher rated power jack and switch, so I need to look for a power jack and switch that can handle 3A?
Both items should be rated for the voltage equal or above what the circuit has, and the same type of voltage (AC or DC)

In your project, that would be 12VDC 3A.

Unlike amp/speaker power. Bigger is ok, but you’ll be paying more for the parts.

So your saying the current 12V DC rated motor and LED strip should work fine with a 12V DC power connection?
LED - https://www.ebay.com/itm/273304204472?var=572654974121
Motor - https://www.robotshop.com/en/12v-6rpm-reversible-high-torque-worm-gear-dc-motor.html

I'll need to use a step down for the sound board I'll be using which takes 5V (AC/DC Not specified)

Based on the 5V power for the soundboard and 30-40mm (preferably closer to 30mm) is there a particular Amp/speaker power/Ohm you'd recommend I use?

Thanks

Yes, those two items will work with a 3A 12VDC power supply.

As far as the sound board, It looks like it’s the same board that’s in the video. Any 200mA (minimum. E.g., a 400mA is fine) 5VDC power supply would work. Note the DC specification.

That's great, I'm going to order the motor and the board now. Can I ask, is this converter suitable for connecting to my 12V supply and powering the board with the 5VDC output current?

Also, could I get your opinion on the speaker selection? I'm looking to have 4 30mm speakers in total but am unsure of the most suitable selection in terms of power requirement and sound quality. For example, would these 0.5W 8Ohm be good to use or would these 1W 8Ohm speakers produce a better sound?

Thanks again

Re: the 12V to 5V converter.. just try it. This exact module is sold by multiple people on Amazon. The descriptions are scarily similar. I swear I saw somewhere that it used 55mA... Any converter that can source (is rated for 100mA, 200mA or higher will work.

Similarly, the module is built for a 4Ω impedance and have a 3W rating. Two 8Ω speakers in parallel will give you 4Ω.

Two sets of two 4Ω speakers in series (giving you 8Ω) which are then wired in parallel, will give you 4Ωs.

Make sure the speaker polarity is maintained. When putting speakers in parallel, the + terminals are wired together and same with the - terminals. When wiring two speakers in series, the - of the first speaker goes to the + of the next speaker.

Ok, thank you for the breakdown, could I ask how do you know the module is built for a 4Ω impedance?
If I understand your description correctly (my technical knowledge is lacking) is this the kind of configuration you are describing?41BFA03C-BAAC-4BEB-A86A-EE73D238176D.jpeg
