I first saw racoon in one film called ADAM,in the central park, two raccom comes out,ADAM said,they did not belong here,but there they were.

 

My pussy cat collection...all captive. My pictures, but not my cats...

That is a chipmunk. A type of ground squirrel.

For sure the subtitles must have been wrong Happy. That can happen though.

An adult raccoon weighs about 8,000g, an adult chipmunk weighs about 120g.

I used to. Very sad story behind that. It ended up with the loss of some 1,500 nature images. About 500 I had scanned from slides and about 1000 more that were taken digitally. There was 2 copies of these images, but both were lost in seperate incidents over a space of a few weeks. I still have the slides that were scanned, but the digital source images are gone. Along with all the images taken from 3 years of covering off-road motorcycle racing for several magzines. I get depressed every time I think of it and sort of gave up the activity at that point.

I was in the process of maikng a new site at the time. What remains of it is at onebytecpu.com. It's been that way for nearly 2 years (or maybe more) now. The galleries are all lost....

I guess I could re-scan some of my slides (I have about 5,000 of them), but all the other stuff is gone.

 

Hey,Happyga'l, if we get to 250, how about a face shot just showing eyes and top of head. I mean, we need some encouragement.

If you like raccoons, how many would you like? They will be DOA, of course. It is the biggest disadvantage of living in the woods in a log home.

I had free reign on Nikon and Canon gear.

I had an F5 with an 80-200 f2.8 tripod mount telephoto nikkor, a 300mm f1.4 pod-mount nikkor, 18-35mm f3.5 fish(ish) eye. 50mm f1.4, 28-80mm f3.5 - 5.6mm nikkor
and a 28-200 f3.5 - 5.6mm Sigma.

Nice gear. That F5 was a sweet piece of gear.

Throw a digital back on her and you were set.

8 auto-focused frames a second, on film setting stamping...

I would shoot Velvia (iso50 E6 positive)

It was this GREAT over saturated slide film.. I really liked it. Made greens and blues POP.. super amazing.

Working at a photo lab, my processing (and film) was free, so I would shoot at least a roll a day.

Just walking through or around the outside of the mall I worked in during lunch time.

For the fun of it, I would use a 300mm macro lens and stack micro filters on the end and take SUPER closeups of zits, and eye iris's.. teeth.. carpet.. a nail, screw threads... just everything.

Very upsetting to lose your photos, especially when they are as good as yours. I've got Pentax too, but I went digital. The quality isn't as good but for me the convenience made it worth it.
That 600mm lens must be a pain to lug around.
I tend to carry the DSLR, a 19mm Vivitar, a 50mm F1.4, a 135mm, 200mm, 500mm mirror lens, extension tubes and a very old M42 50mm on a bellows.
