Not a good idea, period.

With the high power hand-held lasers available today, you NEED protective filtered goggles to use them. Just the "glow" from the beam, or reflected/refracted beam "spray" can damage your eyes in micro seconds.

That is NO GOOD for pilots no matter WHAT way you look at it.

It will reflect around the cockpit. Blue lasers WILL swamp night vision instantly.

They have new triangulation methods on board to tell where the offending beam is coming from with 1 meter accuracy.

If you are under 18, your PARENTS ARE GONNA BE PEEVED! (and broke!) The fines are $10,000us for first offense. Second is 50,000 and third is 100,000.

If you are over 18, you are paying $100,000 and going to jail.

WOW. Thats some nice pentax gear.

I had free reign on Nikon and Canon gear.

I had an F5 with an 80-200 f2.8 tripod mount telephoto nikkor, a 300mm f1.4 pod-mount nikkor, 18-35mm f3.5 fish(ish) eye. 50mm f1.4, 28-80mm f3.5 - 5.6mm nikkor
and a 28-200 f3.5 - 5.6mm Sigma.

I used to have an F3HP with a 180/2.8 and a 35/1.4. They were great lenses, but I also got my Pentax LX at the same time. It was so much better than the F3HP that I switched to Pentax gear. It may have been a mistake as Pentax got out of professional 35mm photography in the 90's except for some real nice glass.

 

Very upsetting to lose your photos, especially when they are as good as yours. I've got Pentax too, but I went digital. The quality isn't as good but for me the convenience made it worth it.
That 600mm lens must be a pain to lug around.
I tend to carry the DSLR, a 19mm Vivitar, a 50mm F1.4, a 135mm, 200mm, 500mm mirror lens, extension tubes and a very old M42 50mm on a bellows.

I've gone digital too now. First got the *istD then K10D now a K7. I really miss film.

The 600/f4 is 14 lbs by itself. With a camera body and the tripod it is over 30 lbs. Yes, it is literally a pain to hike it into the woods, but you need it to get some of these shots.

if you take a profile and double it and view the background, the finer a goblet that is revealed, the prettier the subject.
I would say this is a fine example of a beautiful subject!
