As I noted, the push button signal is not continuous (quote from Post #18 below), which is why I posted the circuit with a latching relay that goes to the limit switches, since I think the TS does not want to have to hold the button until the lid completely opens or closes.
Does that generate a momentary or steady signal?

It generates a steady signal/voltage for as long as it's activated/pushed. Once released, it is zero or open. Then, when pressed again, it is the opposite polarity for as long as you hold the switch.

It might possibly be a benefit to be able to stop the motion short of full open if there is rain and venting is wanted. I often find that simple minded automation is totally unable to deal with exceptions, which may be what I need to have happen at that time, but the simple automation does not make it easy to achieve.
