Then you have a hearing problem like most electric geeetar players and old people like me (I am 73) and maybe you. I have hearing aids that allow me to hear high audio frequencies like when I was young.
Distortion is added harmonics at high frequencies that you cannot hear but everybody with normal hearing can hear. AM radio has no high frequencies which is why you like it because you do not notice that all the high audio frequencies are missing and replaced with high frequency distortion harmonics that you cannot hear.
Acid rock has a lot of high frequency distortion harmonics that the players and you cannot hear.
I played a bass in a band when I was younger. wrote our own songs, nothing special and it never went anywhere. (I'm 57).
I had hearing problems since I was little but it's got a lot better the older I've gotten.

Now that I do not get. you either can hear it or you can't (?) Just to let everyone know, I know what distortion is.

I also do not like "hee haw" country music that is for hillbillies.
You hurt me AG bad. "just kidding" I'm a Hillbilly from Alabama. :)

it was all in fun AG. Believe it or not I don't see much humor on this site and it felt good to finally see that side of someone on here. its always straight to the point, no deviation. "answer question, don't smile type feeling" We all know your an honest Man AG and shortbus and I were only picking at you. You and everyone I've got to post with here I consider a friend and I'm glad to have got to know some of you here. Hopefully I will meet more.

took all day yesterday and got my PCB from 3.250 x 3.250 down to 2.375 x 2.375. the converter has a LED on it that can tell you the input or output voltages so I thought instead of covering it up why not incorporate it into my design. So I have to re-design the cover to add a view hole to see it. for now I will keep the pull-up resistor in it AG "just incase" and I can always change it later on. shortbus got me thinking so hard about things that I just went to it. I'm going to keep the heatsink I originally bought. I looked at several other heatsink types including the one you posted shortbus and after my new found enthusiasm came to the conclusion not to use it. The problem was the "see through cover" made of plastic would be the part I would have to attach to the magnet. I placed a rough sketch shortbus in my drawing and after re-designing my PCB the Makers Heatsink was way too big now for two small PCB's "It would be like overkill".

Don't think I don't appreciate it shortbus. I did give you credit for kicking me back in gear didn't I? you made me stop and look at things differently. So far I've cut the width of the mounting plate by 1" and it cost half as much. It's starting to look a whole lot better.

one more Dumb question about the stand-by input current. I remember AG saying I could use the remote wire from the radio for the input, then got thinking "well why not just use the 16V power instead of the 12V and having to use a pad or a jumper wire. So I went back to the datasheet and never noticed it has different Max's on it. ST-BY current says 1.5V to 100 but it says units are in (uA) the other says ST-BY input current says 5V to 10 (uA). The supply voltage range says 8V to 18V. simple question can the 16V go to the ST-BY pin? you get looking at it and it's kinda confusing. I mean what is the difference in ST-BY current and ST-BY input current. There should be one line and one low and one max.

Seeing how AG doesn't like Acid rock or Country I've come to the conclusion he must like opera. So I thought I might just combine two of them for him.
Here's a little Rock and Opera for you AG.

Your video has no rock or Opera music. Instead it has a couple of very frantic cello players that I do not like. I never liked Opera.

When I was young I liked classical music until I heard all of them live and recorded too many times. Now I like Pop music and like looking at some of their se*y young lady singers.:)

Yea I'm lucky too. My plumbing still operates within normal parameters.
About the voltage on the ST-BY pin can it be 16V?

I know it's off subject but the day after my last post I caught "the crud". You know when you feel like crap, one minute hot, next freezing to death. Just want to know what you all use to get feeling better. That over the counter stuff never works for me. Still aren't up to 100%. I've heard about the whisky, Honey and lemon stuff but I "DON"T" drink liquor ever! I learnt at a young age it wasn't for me. it makes me sick to my stomach and I don't need more of that it already feels bad enough. this stuff put me down and in the bed till today. Never tried things like Theraflu but at this point I'm ready to try anything. can't even get my mind to clear up.
any ideas.
