If they broke the law cashing out due to privileged information they need to be crushed. End of story.
Oh I agree, but Tucker is going to be in trouble for saying it. That's what happened to Shep, he reported true news, and was banished. With a non-compete clause, no jobs in broadcasting allowed for quite a while. (Political reference deleted by moderator)

It always amazed me that insider trading didn't even become illegal for Congress until 2012. Some of them may not have adjusted yet.
Only illegal in criminal(or where ever that gets tried) court. Congressional ethics only makes them claim the trading within 30 days. So if no one presses charges they are free. Sen. Loeffler's husband is a big shot at the stock exchange, wonder how many he told?

Why should we care about 'presenters' and 'commentators' during this emergency when they all get a nice parachute when 'let go'. The grocer clerks on the front line are a hell of a lot more important.

---EMPHASIS ADDED---

I believe @shortbus' point centers about a (IMO highly justified) concern with erosion of 1'st amendment rights (CIP the public's 'right' be advised of public servants' dubious conduct).

"Presenters and commentators" occupy a unique position for their ready access to mass media - hence it is not about the 'fortunes' of the targeted journalists but, rather, their silencing that should give us pause...

Very best regards

Your first 1'st amendment rights are not affected by who get's hired and fired at a for profit (left, center or right wing) propaganda channel unless a official government order commands it so.
The day that Tucker's show is a valid news source I will agree with you.

Can't say I blame the people getting some fresh air and sun before we go under a official statewide “stay at home” order.

WARRENTON, OR (KPTV) – Despite Oregon Governor Kate Brown calling on all Oregonians to stay at home unless absolutely necessary, the Oregon Coast and Columbia River Gorge were packed with people Saturday.

Social media was littered with pictures showing traffic headed to the coast and crowded beaches.

GRESHAM, OR (KPTV) – Twenty-five Portland metro area mayors have collectively called for a statewide “stay at home” order from Governor Kate Brown in a letter published on Saturday.

The mayors convened over a conference call to discuss the region’s response to COVID-19 outbreak, according to Metropolitan Mayors Consortium Chair Gresham Mayor Shane Bemis. In an “overwhelming majority vote” they agreed the “stay at home” order was needed.

So, what we are saying is we will travel to a beach in a car in close proximity to get to a beach with sand and hot sun e.g. around the equator (This local is not) so it’s hot and not able to transmit in that local, Um maybe I’m taking this overboard but well it’s the way people might think while getting to the location fit for a non transmit we infect each other unwittingly while getting there.

We will see what summer brings, more if not the same.

Edit: Maybe time to turn off the Air-conditioning and sweat it out?

I notice the article seems to downplay the Imperial College papers critique of the suppression strategy by saying "Hammer is weeks, not months".
The Dance
If you hammer the coronavirus, within a few weeks you’ve controlled it and you’re in much better shape to address it. Now comes the longer-term effort to keep this virus contained until there’s a vaccine.
We can hope but I don't see that as realistic for a country as large, isolated and varied as the US.

Once the initial hammer is lifted it will be hard to impossible to reenact many of the hammer measures in repeated cycles. The bottom line in every strategy is that we all get the virus at some-point if there is not an effective vaccine.
