While I expect the economic aftermath may be with us for awhile (depending upon how this 'shakes out') -- It is my considered opinion, that the direct public health impact (i.e morbidity/mortality directly ascribable to infection with SARS-CoV-2) will, by comparison with that by endemic pathogens, be little more than a brief 'blurb' in 'appendix Z' of said volumes...I’m not so sure of that. Most of us may survive, but this will leave an indelible mark for a couple generations. In a century it will just live in history books.
