Alternative to centrifugal switch

This is my crude wiring diagram that I dont think is super accurate but it is what I have currently, at the moment the grinder just makes a loud hum and the momentary switch I have placed in place of the centrifugal doesnt do anything
How is the other side of the cap getting power? The way it's drawn only the run winding is in the circuit, so the motor would only hum. One side of the start winding also need connected to the hot line.

I don't see that both windings are powered, so either the drawing is missing something or some connection is wrong. For the motor to start both windings must be powered, one throuigh the capacitor and the other directly. Shortbus is right.

I knoe the drawing isnt really correct but im assuming the start and run windings are connected internally, Ill have to test the cap because im thinking that its bad, im pretty sure the resistance should go to zero then infinity on the meter but when I tested it, it was stuck at a certain number

Ok false alarm everyone, its all good, for some reason the switch is opposite so instead of pushing up you have to push down for the start cap to go
