Bolt head gone for good.

After a lot of coke and thinner and getting high with fumes I manage to get it open.

I was able to get the thread out but I need a drill press to drill through the tuck bolt piece. It's in machine shop now..

So checking on then semi's now

Negative plate bolt broken, Not even a connection
I'm referring to debe's diagram

Tapped for tacho ..

But one problem..I found this bugger inside

It's a cap but for what...??

It's wires cannot be found or I dunno where they went or dissolved but what is that cap for ?

By the way, How do I test the circuit ?

Maybe the cap was part of the tach signal? You know, block DC and pass AC?

Thought you got a new alternator, this one doesn't look too new. :)

This is how i bench test altenator regs. Note the Ind lamp must be no more than 2W. The globe across where the rotor/brushes can be about 5 or 10Watt. Using an adjustable powersuply feed power as shown. If the Reg is working ok then the globe where the rotor was should be On with 24V & go out at about 28V. (iwill be out for the next 6Hrs). Also no idea why theres a Capacitor inside. Some time there is a .5uf cap externaly on the B+ to stop altenator whine in radios.

Finished the Alternator

My way of testing the alternator :D

The Lamp Voltage shoots to 22V, Could not run too long. too much wobbling.

RPM works like a charm.

I think the charge lamp is now blown. Told em to check it. We'll know a few weeks later I guess.

Thank you all for all the help. Specially to Daryl.

You guys makes my jobs definitely much easier

About the tacho, it's funny...
There are no holes in the meter to adjust anything, but when I throttle the engine RPM responds accordingly. I mean not over scale or anything. I guess the meter is an Alternator tacho type, right ?

Abt last night. !!!

It's not a problem to fix, it's big. Wait till they try to take off. :D
