Opinion: Don't ever run the self-cleaning mode.
Agreed, doing a self clean, in my experience,( for what that's worth) has killed a lot of boards/ovens. I know, I know, millions of stoves out there .
"They did a self clean over the weekend and now nothing works." Will this be you?
Especially the ones with the display out in front above the door, self clean is in access of 900F and the heat get to the boards,
Despite better oven cavity insulation,,in addition to expensive boards there are high limit thermostats, elements , wiring and oh yeah: sticking lock switches and motors that all require a service call if your not handy.
IF you got a bunch of spilled grease, fires might erupt inside at the high temps. . One is supposed to clean oil spills and large food bits beforehand , but how many peoples RTM. One lady wanted to clean her frying pan while oven cleaning and that's a no-no,as well as goodbye handle.
There is also the fume problems with some pet birds and with people with compromised lung function from the incinerated ash.
Also there are reports that certain foods during oven cleaning produced carbon monoxide.
rant over

Thanks for the product recommendation. Yeah, I've never used the self clean anyway, just needed the error to go away. I normally use Easy Off. I quickly tested the clean mode for 1 minute just to make sure the door lock works, it does. 5 hours and no errors, so thats good. I will be sure to look for that stuff, because the whole stove smells extremely awful and needs a deep clean. I think a mouse got in it!

On the solder joints, yeah I know those are pretty terrible. I think I might have a higher wattage soldering iron somewhere, just not sure where! :) Ever since RadioShack went out of business, I've gotten solder at Walmart. It's actually usually decent. Before I put the back cover on I'll try to reflow the solder again.

If doing the cleaning by hand, always wear goggles, my ex-wife was cleaning the oven and she had a sponge pushed it into a corner and it splashed back into her eye we quickly rinse it but in seconds it burned into her eye, a good pair of gloves will also be in order. Glad to see you got somewhere.
