@WBahn I just ordered the book earlier this evening, I am really excited for this project! :D
If you REALLY want to get going quickly (while you wait for the book to arrive) you can go to their website and work through the first six projects. Everything, including the PDFs of the first six chapters of the book, are there as well as ALL of the software tools and files for ALL of the projects. The only thing the book gives you that the website doesn't make available for free is the text of the final six chapters.

I've been a bit busy with life for the past few days.

@MrChips This is exactly what I was thinking all along! I really like your blog, definitely going to do some work with the Launch Pad. But it seems like a good idea to first mess around with Arduino and it's IDE, before I move onto Launch Pad, as there seem to be less abstractions.

@WBahn Already on it. I will be heading off to sea in a few days, and sadly the book won't arrive in time, but I think I have more than enough learning material with me.
