I found a way to be around good music...I volunteered to be the electronic tech for a band in L.A.
Free entrance to all practice sessions and public appearances, and nobody played a computer.:)
I repaired the broken guitar cords, made sure the amplifier grounds were synchronized so nobody got shocked, adjusted some sound settings and recording devices, then mostly enjoyed the ride.:)
What a varied and bussy life you had #12!!

Thank you for noticing, and thank electronics for allowing it! Electronics has been my, "ticket to ride" since I was 20 years old. I could go anywhere the wind blew me and find a job in less than 4 hours, so I did! I repaired TVs in Warsaw Indiana for 3 months, just to wait until Mardi Gras to leave there. I learned enough to get a job fixing Amana microwave ovens and Frigidaire refrigerators in 1 hour. That got me started in Southern California. When I went back to Florida, it took me about 3 hours to become employable installing and repairing central air conditioners.

I was as free as a bird because of electronics. The only places I didn't go were the places I didn't want to go.
Some people are more conservative than I am. They get a good, steady job, and nail one foot to the floor for 30 years.
Others are more adventurous. They go to Saudi Arabia and install generators.
My point here is that electronics is a ticket to ride for anybody who can do it.
You want your opinion heard in the music industry? You can have it!
You want to travel the world? You can have it!
You want to live a quiet, safe life and retire quietly? You can have it!

So what do you have ? o_O
AAC ? :D
I have my home and 2 cars in the place where I want to live, and it's all paid for.

Actually, I feel a tiny bit insulted that you would suggest people who post on the internet do not have the rest of their time and their friends and family to enjoy.

I don't need two cars, but I want two cars.
The second car is barely worth its price as scrap metal, but it will go buy parts if the first car needs them.
The second car has 3 gears left, rains on the inside, and the A/C can not get parts to be repaired.
For that, I parked it behind the shed.
Better to have a spare you don't need than to need a spare you would have to pay 5X as much to acquire.
So why do I need a spare? Because I was lazy just to park it.
How does that need a reason?

My daughter moved to larger house and it has a huge yard. They need a riding mower to have any chance of keeping it mowed.

They're not happy to learn that a tractor is going to cost more than any car they've owned.

Cheap/free cars are out there and can offer a lot of life. I wouldn't set off cross-country in one but I'm all in favor of keeping them rolling.

Every car I drove was used, my Motorcycle 92 Yamaha Virago "Rat Bike" I paid $1100 with a brand new battery, put new white sidewalls on it and shebang.

I always go used, I feel there is always someone willing to sell or trade. I go for trading as well when I get the chance.

Usually people who have worked to achieve what they want from life worked towards the primary goal of having far more free time and personal resources than most people have.;)

I did and do anyway.

I'm not 'financially rich' because money on its own has very little value to me but I have put a lot more planning into my life to get to the point where I have far more free time and the resources,'time and resources wealthy-ish', to support it than the average person so I can do what I want as I want when I want.

"What-makes-a-song-a-hit"

I remember a day when all of the keyboards came with the "doo" sound sampled and it was the cheesiest thing ever in existence. Sliding notes on a keyboard was also a big no-no.

However today this song has spawned this sliding of a pitched vocal sample somewhat of a trend.

In short. Good music is good music. What becomes a hit song is (if you're not the innovator ) repeating others success until something new comes along. imho
