Hello everyone,

Honestly, there's lot of injustice in music production field, ... I've been listening recently to many great songs, .. although they're so captivating, they're not considered as hits. Besides, their number of views on youtube is low. So, i kinda don't get it, while some trash music becomes extremely famous, some amazing songs are being really underrated.

What are your opinions about this ?

You joined an electronics forum just to talk about music? That's weird.

Anyway, my answer is "the music industry." They decide who gets on the radio, whose CDs are showcased as soon as you walk into a store, etc. And they do not necessarily pick the artists with the best art; they pick the faces they know they can sell to targeted demographics.

Don't you notice that i posted this topic in off-topic section ?! .... Besides, did you at least check my profile. Moreover, what if i'm really here to talk only about music in off-topic section, where's the problem!
Just wanna know, are you a nerd ?

A Phd in what? You mean you can not conceive why others have different music preferences?

Sounds like a Phd candidate. Children teaching children.

Who told you that you were capable of deciding an injustice? Another Phd?

And no....I don't think you kinda get anything. You have been put into a coma. Your mind is too closed to be a Phd.

It's just an off topic opinion. A phd does not impress me......it warns me.

No problem. Did you notice that I gave input on your topic despite the fact I thought it was "weird?" I am fine with off-topic conversation. Your post count said "0" so I assumed this was your very first thread; I forgot that posts in off-topic do not count toward your post count. No, I did not check your profile page. I don't check anybody's profile page.

Of course! why else would I be on an electronics forum? I certainly didn't come here just to talk about music (or to talk about talking about music).

That could be easily explained by personal bias. It may just mean your tastes don't align with the mass market. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, that's why there is so much diversity out there - people like different things. Thank goodness for that.

If someone could really tell you what makes a hit song, they'd be rich. There are many examples of record companies putting hit songs on the B side of records because they didn't recognize its hit potential. They chose another song for the A side that never went anywhere.

I agree that promotion plays a role. I don't think promotion can turn a turd into a hit but a lack of promotion can ensure you and I never hear that hit song lost in the clutter of the internet.

Diversity - yes. Quality music - hard to find. I do think this was always the case, but is amplified now with youtube etc.

How many "hit" artists of today will be here in 20 years? and is there anyone that you would say had some kind of impact on music?

I would think that in our time, gringe was the "innovative" period, whether you like it or not... Chris Cornell was found dead yesterday...

Oh, and while we are here, can we all just admit that the music (if you can call it that) of today just sucks?

It's like they've taken centuries of music theory development and thrown it out the window -- in favor of random computer generated crap, superficial lyrics, and auto-tuned vocalists. Does anyone even play an instrument anymore?
