I am reviewing the diagrams as time permits. Few days went off grid as I got a unique free opportunity to upgrade my current working PC. Had to move a lot of data here and there and organize my clustered data base.

Thought I'll let u know that I haven't forgot.
check for updates.

i'm still here. just curious, haven't messed with the board. but can you test an optocoupler just by using diode function of DMM on collector and emitter?

U need to forward bias the LED inside for the CE to conduct. Without the LED turning on, CE is always open

U are here.....?
OK..I was thinking if there is any way of reheating the chip under the sink...To reflow the solder...it could be a dry joint.

U need an experience in this matter, not to mention a hot gun

well if i sent it to you, would you need just main board? and also would you post lots of pics and explain how you went about troubleshooting. i would really like to learn. i'll see. but not anytime soon with christmas coming i probably won't have any money to send the thing. and don't know how far you live (shipping costs).

I'll Post everything. All I need is main board and the front panel switch PCB.

I will PM my address. Shipping is not much. The SMD Chip is the one I want to look at, Since The sink is glued,. I do not think you can take it off with the chip leaving intact on the board. I doubt I can, but I have a few tricks.

I can make a PSU to run it and form looking at the LVDS connector, I think I have compatible LCD's lying around
