Pig ingesting with "a little stink" @ 1:30 but he tries to cut it with vinegar.

There are things on this earth that are eaten because ya can't afford anything better. There are foods cocked and sold because your customers cannot afford anything better. What I'm saying is, anybody that can afford to sit back and watch YouTube videos or peruse this site doesn't need to eat anything from the digestive track of another animal that has "a little stink" to it. I listened to a hipster tell me how good his life is because he does x, y and z. My conclusion was that this guy is broke and living his best life as a man with no money. Sorry guys, I couldn't even watch the rest of the video - night market might have more horrors that I don't want to discuss (or buy into).

I have no idea what is your previous experience abroad but myself, well before YT even existed, realized the incredible variety of habits regarding food.

Down here we eat things that could be eventually despised by foreigners. If you simply show disgust, local people will simply laugh of you.

Additional comment to street food in general: people daring to taste some in other countries would hardly try anything in their own.

One of the best parts of having traveled and lived globally was experiencing the street food. Waiting for evening when vendors shoved their push carts out and getting the fires going. Hell, I would try anything and add an ice cold local brew. Life was good. The food was good too. :)

I've travelled most of the world (somehow I have not had the chance to visit east Africa or South Asia). I have never +9:3 across any regional delicacy (and nobody has recommended anything) that has "a little stink".

I've eaten many sausages and stomach recipes in Germany and Scotland, If some street cook doesn't bother to clean the casings enough to remove "the stink", I don't need it. I'm not that broke or hungry. I'll eat something that doesn't smell like it will give me gastroenteritis or worse. Humans and other mammals have an aversion to the smell of crap for a reason. If anyone needs to be reminded not to eat crap or eat things that smell like crap, they likely have COVID-19 and cannot smell.

A great story of the early Chinese in America and food.

Some of my relatives in Texas (Chinese railroad/cotton workers and local black residents) also ran 'Chop' restaurants for the rail workers building the cotton trains in Texas.

Lately I have been craving seared tuna, smokes salmon and fried clams. Here in Cleveland fried clams are non existent. When you grow up on Long Island if it comes out of the water you eat it. That buffet about did me in. :)

It's a wonderful place to eat, drink and be merry. There were a few buffets when I was there in the 70's. I don't get a chance to go on the last trip as I was catching our own seafood.

Ah yes, the Key West Bollos (pronounced boy-ohs). Looks like a hushpuppy. Tastes fantastic with a little kick of heat. Hard as hell to make. They soak uncooked dried black-eyed peas and remove the outer skin by hand. Mash them with a bit of salt and red pepper and deep fry them in hushpuppy shape. To simply things I grind the dried peas, skin and all, into a flour/meal. Not the traditional way but damn they are good! Great street food!

Only once for me. Went from the carrier to a cruiser and enjoyed the place and yeah. I remember TUSKER beer and if I recall correctly it wasn't bad stuff at all. Castle Hotel sounds familiar but hard to believe that was about 40 years ago for me. Damn. I am getting old. :)

IO, IO it's off to sea we go. :) During 1980 :

April 15, 1980December 22, 1980Indian Ocean

This was my second full deployment on USS Eisenhower CVN 69. I was a civilian component of Department Defense as a field engineer. We were scheduled for Perth right till Iran & Iraq started their pissing contest. During the Iran hostage situation. Perth was cancelled and the State Department wanted to maintain two carrier groups in the IO at all times. Great cruise for saving money. Wow so we were both in the IO during 1980. While we were well paid the IKE appreciated me so they put me on a cruiser and that's why I got to Mombasa, Kenya for some R&R. Then back to the IKE. :)

AIMD IM3 Division that's me a long time ago. Mr Blain :)
