Start/stop motor control with two limit switches

Thing I'm curious about is once the motor has pulled the weight back to the top how do you disengage the motor from the weight so that the weight can slowly fall again? Is the pull of the weight enough to drive the clock AND unwind the chain from the bobbin you use to pull the weight back up?

All of this might be interesting to some but the OP- TS has been gone for about 6 mo.
No, actually it is a long and convoluted story but the thread starter actually asked his question yesterday. See post #21 by Dick. Now follow Dick's link. So while the actual original thread is 6 months old the new and improved continuation is only a day old. :)

Yes, but what happened was someone replied to the thread with a new question. Moderation attempted to split the new question off and for the benefit of the new member. Unfortunately a few post sort of got lost in the process and to sort of further complicate things two moderators, against all odds, were doing this at the same time. So yes, the original thread was six month old but the new member added his question a few days ago. Things simply did not quite go as planned. The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry comes to mind. :)
