It's ironic that on Sunday, I saw a couple riding two just that size on a state highway. They had on backpacks, and looked as if they were on a long trip. Amazing...but I need a motor.

I can't imagine the balance and coordination that would take...but I am sure I don't have enough.

 

Actually, it is easier than you can imagine.
Fore-aft balancing is done using electronic servo control feedback.
Gyroscopic effect keeps it balanced from side to side.

Does it go that fast that you need a seatbelt?

 

A seatbelt in a boat would be a very bad idea. The strap you see in the picture keeps the seatback in place. It holds it up when a passenger is in the seat, and holds it down for transporting the boat.

 

Hehe, it does look pretty good.

My MIG beads don't break, but they are not as beautiful as they once were.
My TIG beads were hard to beat.

The image is shaky. It's out of woven straw. This is my "walk" hat. I have a beach/expedition hat which is a hybrid between a cowboy hat and a sombrero. Also made out of straw. Leather isn't good for covering your head at 35oC.

vacation photos you say... just returned from visiting home, St. Petersburg, Russia with a short detour to the Baltic.

 

I've been "to Russia" before. Domodedovo airport, layover. They had cartoon flies epoxied into the urinal porcelain. They had a smoking room, the size of a large walk-in closet, into which no less than 50 people cram into at a time; I couldn't smoke my smoke for all the smoke. And the lady selling drinks was very curt; actually almost everyone was. There was one girl who smiled at me though; I still remember her face, but none of the others.

This has been a test of the emergency semicolon system; we now return to scheduled programming.

 

Ha Strantor, I know how it can be, but St. Petersburg is really nice. Most people are kind, although smiles are hard to come by. I usually end up helping foreigners buy plane and train tickets, this time it was a Dutch couple taking a train up to Karelia (basically area between Lake Ladoga and White Sea), somehere I hope to travel one day

I have the one from the vacations in Sweden and the one from the olive field. This is the third self pic, if I recall correctly.

Unlike some other individual whose head in the water is getting stale...

Russian is a mystery culture to me. We have almost the same alphabet and religion, but it's been many years since we were in its sphere of influence, so it's a pretty faraway and strange place to me.

On the other hand, today I dreamed that I visited New York. It was rainy and I lost my ID. To be honest, it was rather late in the morning...
