I am trying to replace a usb C connector that snapped on a laptop power supply, there is a blue wire that needs to be connected to A5/CC1 (and also to B5/CC2 ?) would this type of connector work :

 

You may need a connector that supports the PD (power delivery) contacts, and I didn't have much luck finding a replacement connector assembly like that. I resorted to buying a complete replacement cable made for a USB-C Lenovo brick, and splicing that onto the original cable, rather than attempting to just replace the connector.

I thought so, my hunch those connectors are factory soldered not by hand, I'll try to get hold of those connectors with CC1/2 pads and try to test them with a usb break out board whether they're connected to A5/B5 ...

This appears to b e a perfectly good option. It has pull-up resistors in place and pads doe CC1/CC2.
