Maybe, but it's been great for me. And when I think about all the emissions it is eliminating over the entire population, that makes me happy.

 

Most of the older GM stuff and even the newer keyed stuff you can add additional keys manually but most of the newer prox systems need to be done diagnostically.
This is US specific. The rest of the world has always been done only via diag or eeprom on GM's.

Just found out that the feature (program new key fob) is not available on the Canadian version, US version only, for some odd reason!?
Otherwise it is a simple operation.

Yea its always been like that with GM. Not sure why myself. Probably something to do with laws/guidelines Canada requires for anti-theft prevention on vehicles.
