hi @sghioto , thanks
well as i am using 5V , 1-2A devices on 7m cable which is 1mm2 (core) the drop is 1.5V, in case i use 1.5mm2 (core) its 1V

i cant have drop bc usb devices are browning, rebooting etc..

I would think the S13V30F5 module should work OK.
How many devices are being powered?
What is currently suppling the 5 volts?

@sghioto
i bought

all mean well HDR series
1x 5V (adjustable 4-6V) 6.5A
1x 12V (adjustable 10-14V) 4.5A
1x 12V adjustable 1.25A
These are the power supplies you are using currently, correct?
Anyway to install a beefier 7m power cable?
A 10 gauge two conductor cable at 7m would only drop 0.26 volts at 6.25 amps, would that work?

yes, basically i wanted to get rid of all PSU from devices like Alexa, blink cam etc... so "centralize" to 3 PSUs

so it implies 10 gauge for 5V
and 10 gauge for 12V
4 cores, so its gonna be pretty thick (20mm):(

dont know whats a better approach like to go that "thick" route or mess up with regulators?

@sghioto but happy for any recco.

Or in case i find extra money, is it also good with regulators? I am afraid of the heat from these devices ie regulators.

How are you figuring 20mm?
A 10 gauge wire is 2.59mm in diameter.
A 14 gauge cable would more then sufficient for 12 volts at 4 amps. Drop of only 0.42 volts.
Another thought, since the Mean Well supplies are adjustable why not adjust the output voltage to compensate for the drop?

@sghioto well that was ma innitial though to buy psu that u can increase voltage as a compensation for a drop. But drop happens under load so u can't send 6v to 5v usb device as u can damage it, same with 12v devices.

Thx

Multiple media devices

Vero4k
Fire cube
Blink camera
Switch
Etc

I bought 6mm2 cables for 5v
4mm2 cable for 12v branch, each 7m long

The 6mm2 cable would drop 0.26v at 6.5 amps on the 5 volt line.
The 4mm2 cable would drop 0.24v at 4 amps on the 12 volt line.
Would those voltage drops be acceptable at full load?
