Looking for a multi-channel pc based usb datalogger for voltage and temperature. Voltage is about 10-100mV, temperature is near room temperature. Any good recommendataions? thanks.

How many channels? To what resolution? What do you plan to use as a temperature sensor?

There are dozens of inexpensive starter kits out there like these from Dataq Instruments. A simple Google of "usb based data acquisition system" will bring up a dozen hits. Once you acquire data what do you plan to do with it as in place it on an Excel Spread sheet, write your own software or what? The better the A to D conversion the greater the cost.

2 channels for voltage and 4 channels for temperature. Type K for thermocouple. 1% accuracy should be fine.

Measurement Computing is pretty popular you may want to look at what they have to offer. Start by refining your search to USB units.

Keep in mind with a Type K Thermocouple you start with:
Temperature Range:
  • Thermocouple grade wire, –454 to 2,300F (–270 to 1260C)
  • Extension wire, 32 to 392F (0 to 200C)

Accuracy (whichever is greater):
  • Standard: +/- 2.2C or +/- .75%
  • Special Limits of Error: +/- 1.1C or 0.4%
Even with Special Limits wire manufacture the above is about as good as it gets unless you plan to use custom charted type K thermocouples.

Anyway you are looking at six channels of data acquisition.
