Picture this...

When obsessive photographers become a pain:

Some 13 years ago, I visited a neighborhood that was lined with cherry trees and when they blossomed it was truly a sight to see.

The neighborhood, for that week, was virtually overrun by invaders. Many were polite, mindful and respectful. Some of them, however, were not. I never went back. I don't know if that neighborhood still opens their doors anymore, but your link reminded me of how things can get.

Maybe we will see a future where you have to get a license to use a camera in certain areas.

I've been fighting saturated land for nearly a year it seems. The wettest year I've experienced. The path to my shop is no longer passable. Trying to build a shop addition and a gravel driveway to it but the ground is still too wet and keeps getting wetter. I drilled holes in the slop with my tractor auger to drop in a pump and get rid of the water. I lost track of where one of the holes was drilled and my daughter found it for me.

Never before have I seen so dramatic a picture followed by such a lovely one.

Sorry about your shop, but congrats on your beautiful daughter... :)

A spectacular view of Monterrey's Saddle Mountain at sunrise, looming above the clouds. It's been circulating in the social networks, and I don't know who shot it. But I've been told that it was taken yesterday. And it does match the exact weather we were having at that moment.

Here's a stock photo of the mountain as seen from the ground, for comparison purposes.

I'm always awed when you can visualize the fluid nature of the atmosphere. It doesn't "feel" like a fluid in normal daily activities so it's amazing when you can see it flow and fill a void, such as a valley.

Photo for today: A view of the foot bridge across the St. Joseph river, at dawn, at Central Park in Mishawka, Indiana.

Nice! Please go back and re-shoot, bracketing the exposure and combine so it is HDR. I want to start playing with that and want some motivation :)
