I can relate to that lost soul. I once got lost driving around Ft. Meade in 2005 when I was stationed there in the Army Reserves. I mistakenly ended up at the NSA entrance gate because I had no idea where the winding road that I followed led to. What is meant by 'the East County law'?

~We had a serious fire in the downtown area here yesterday that was visible from 120m (~400ft). At ~4700m (~3mi) away, it was a serious test of the Mavic 4 Pro's 168mm lens. (the drone has three cameras—the main is 28mm wide angle the, the telephoto is 70mm, and the super-telephoto is 168mm)

The resulting footage is impressive, not only for the performance of the camera at such distances but the extent of the fire, which destroyed the historic building and required about 2.5 hours of defensive firefighting to knock down.

I wrote this quite a while ago (originally in 2011) after I found out about the history of Chinese involvement in WW I—your post reminded my of it. Like all nations, China has its strengths and weaknesses and its current government is certainly far from ideal. But there is a lot of history in China, and if WW II has already become "ancient history" built on mythology for most of the world, WW I is even more remote—basically forgotten.
