Can you share the source for this?According to a component database the 520-210-R is a 29.4912MHZ crystal.
It doesn't make any sense to me. Why not just do the obvious and just put 14.74MHz on the package?That makes sense. 14.74MHZ sounds logical.
It makes you have to read the datasheet for one. Also putting a "." on the package makes the value hard to determine. The period gets lost in the small type and dirt on the package. I don't think that's a valid concern. The first 3 of these crystals are much smaller than the one in question...Also putting a "." on the package makes the value hard to determine. The period gets lost in the small type and dirt on the package
