There should be two LED's and two receivers, typically the LED's each require a series resistor and the outputs, typically open collector, require a pull up resistor,
Each unit is distinctly separate. IOW 2 in 1.
Is there no part number on the opto unit itself.?
Max.

Thanks !
Here some photos of the burned one, but i think it must be the same connections and the same characteristics for all three coming from my printer.

We can see numbers but I don't know the meaning ...

I opened the burned encoder to see what's inside, I can see one Led and something like a photoresistor, photos :

the photresistor ? ends up in 4 pins

The LED ? ends up with 2 pins

EDIT

Thanks guys :─)

You normally would have a minimum of 6 connections with 2 discrete sensors, 0v, 5v, LED1, LED2, OUT1, OUT2. or 5 with single LED source.
Or 4 if LED rsistors on board.
If all else fails there is a 100 slot dual opto quadrature encoder on ebay for $3.00. They just have 4 connections
The disc is small 22mm across.
Max.

I have 6 pins with a single led i think. We can clearly see the LED and the photoresistor on the last pics i send.
I know i could order an all in one optical encoder, ready to use, plug & play, but it matter to me to use what i find around me, locally, and to reuse those electronics in order to build alternatives tools, and for the shear hell of it !

Hey everyone !
I finally found what went wrong, a wrong pinout of my encoder, as simply as that. I figure it out by finding and reading the Service manual of my Pixma IP4200 inkjet printer here

Next step is to control a DC motor using the data from the encoder
