Need help in Aptitude Question

... Or, to look at it another way, what fraction of the job does 'C' contribute over the entire 3 days?

i.e.

3*(1/6)+3*(1/8)+X=1
X=The fraction of the entire job attributable to 'C'

Get it?:)

Days required for both workers acting simultaneously to complete the job = 1/ ([the fraction of the work completed by 'A' per day] + [the fraction of the work completed by 'B' per day])
is there any other method also?

A alone can do a piece of work in 6 days and B alone in 8 days. A and B undertook to do it for Rs. 3200. With the help of C, they completed the work in 3 days. How much is to be paid to C?
1/6+1/8+x=1/3
X= the fraction of the job contributed by 'C' daily...
1/6+1/8+x=1/3
x=1/3-1/8-1/6
x=1/12


C=12 days

B=8 =1/8
C=24 =1/24

You've determined that 'C' does 1/24 of the work in 1 day -- Hence 'he' earns (1/24)*3200 Rupees per day --- What will his total earnings be?

is the total paid will be Rs. 3200?
then (1/24)*3200 Rupees per day=133

So... If 'C' earns 133+1/3 Rupees per day how much does he earn for his part of the entire job???
133+1/3 why to add 1/3 here?
