Thanks @danadak - so that would be pins 2 and 9 on my diagram? I practical terms it might make sense if I swap over U2 and U3. I also notice I neglected to attach pin 5 to anything. I will send a corrected diagram later, if you wouldn't mind casting your eye over that it would be very much appreciated.

Hi guys. Attached is my latest attempt at a breadboard layout. Ignore the small mistake where the X is as those two points should not be connected. Please let me know if I've made any mistakes. The 4093s are in the post so this is still theoretical at this point.
