There's no question (in my mind) that human physiology has not evolved to tolerate refined sugar or high-calorie diets in general. Our bodies are far too efficient at conserving the available energy, and saving excess calories for a later (assumed) famine.

Luckily, I never acquired a taste for extremely sweetened foods and beverages -- even as a kid.

But, I love beer, pizza, grilled-cheese sandwiches, bacon, beef, and potatoes (not necessarily in that order) . I could cut back, but I choose not to.

Life is for living while you are.

Sorry I missed this earlier. Fascinating.

My daughters had their kids during or after the time I lost weight on low-carb and became a voice against sugar. They allow them treats but rarely and in small doses. So glad.
