Hello all,

This is my first post to this forum so I hope im posting in the correct place.

I have a Mr. Christmas product called "Silver Bells Musical Pathway Lights" that I am trying to fix. There is supposed to be a motion sensor that, when set off, lights up the bells and starts playing music. This motion sensor has been lost. Now, there are only two wire ends that im guessing used to connect to it. When the bells are plugged in, crossing these two wires causes the lights and music to happen. Using my multimeter on the 2 wires, the voltage is 6V (so is the wall plug).

I'm trying to figure out how to wire in a PIR sensor or something else to these to make it go off when someone walks by, but I cant seem to figure it out. Ill called and emailed the company and they have been no help.

Thank you in advance for any help,

You can pick up PIR modules with relay outputs on eBay for a few $/£, the more expensive part will be a suitable enclosure to keep it safe from the elements.
Voltage wise your looking at 5v, so a PIR with 5v relay would be ideal. You could even go with a microwave doppler effect detector instead, which make life easier when it comes to sealing an enclosure.
