Hi!

I'm trying to find a halleffectsensor with an open collector but can't find one. I've only tried to google it and I wondered if any of you know of any websites that might have one? I also wonder if you know of any new tutorials that show how to design you own symbol in Eagle (The ones I've seen use older versions than mine and since I'm new it's hard to understand).

Start with a Google of what you want which you can try "NPN current sinking hall effect sensor". Also look at key players like Allegro and Honeywell and read their data. Consider your desired specifications and type sensor and make a decision as to what you want.

There are more open collector hall sensors than any other.
See the Honywell SS400 series, they have a few versions.
What case style are you looking for?

Hallsensor If I were to design this in EAGLE, do I use the circuit on page 19? And can you recommend any good and easy tutorials? I've only found old versions which makes it hard to keep up since I'm new to it.

That page gives a fairly good representation, they are fairly simple to integrate, being 3 terminal devices, it all depends on what your application is?

The exact nature of its function in the application you have in mind.
To What actual use you intend putting it to.

I want to design a digital hall sensor with an open collector that'll later be attached to a motor where it senses the magnetic field to determine it's position. That's the only information I've been given.

The question seems to have changed. In post #1 you seem to be looking for a source to buy an open collector hall sensor but in post #8 you say that you want to design one. If you design one I think you will have great difficulty finding a semiconductor manufacturer that will manufacture it for you and if you do it will cost a great deal of money.

I believe you want to design a circuit using a hall effect sensor to determine motor position? A hall effect sensor is a poor choice if you want to determine a motor shaft's position. Hall effect sensors are more suited for measuring, for example a motor shaft speed or RPM. A single hall effect sensor will not be of much use as to the position of a rotating shaft. Not a single sensor anyway. Earlier I posted a few links from a few manufacturers, have you read them? Other than open collector output hall effect sensors have other properties, many of which need considered, before selecting a sensor for a specific application. Additionally this is beginning to sound more like a school assignment than a personal project of your own doing. I suggest you start reading about hall effect sensors.

If that is all the information, then I would suggest it is insufficient as based on info so far, assumptions have to be made.
e.g. What is the nature of the motor? BLDC? , I would assume it is P.M. rotor?
Hall effect (3 digital sensors) are fitted to BLDC motors to detect the rotor position for commutation.
A similar method could be used for sensing RPM or a stationary position, depending on resolution required.
