Hi. I'm wanting to homebrew my ham radio station. I want my equipment to be "open frame", that is housed in a structure without panels (except the front panel). The other day I bought an old PSU and dismantled it, (made my GILTECH in UK, psssibly in 1970's). I'm hoping I might be able to procure something similar, but does any manufacturer currently offer open frame instrument cases to the hobbyist (did any ever do that?). Thanks if you can help me source what I'm after. I'm in UK. Rich

You can buy all sorts of aluminum extrusions from which you can build anything you like. Google it.

 

Chassis box plus a 19" front panel? That was common in the vacuum tube era.
