UTC7608D. If anyone could point me in the right direction of a data sheet for this device I would be ever so grateful.

A previous poster had the same problem as me regarding this IC. I can order millions of the little B's if I want them but nobody seems to be prepared to supply a data sheet and I am struggling to work out what pin does what. I am trying to repair a PC power unit and I prefer to analyse the fault rather than just blanket replacement of all the components. Does anybody have a data sheet you could help me out with ? This IC appears to be in the standby / start up section of the PSU.
For those that are about to panic and say don't do it. I am an electrical engineer with a separate background in electronics and used to working at 400,000 volts on the UK national grid so I am very well aware of safety issues and the need to work safely inside what is a unit that runs almost directly across the mains in what I would describe as "a death or glory design".

 

You can't order them from Digi-key or Mouser, and I find no hits at alldatasheet or other archival sites. I think you might be outa luck.

I sympathize with your faith in ebay sellers. Most of their stuff is fake, and they seldom stand by what they sell.

 

I stumbled upon this thread while looking at a PSU with the same IC in the standby circuit.

After some digging, I found a discussion on a Chinese forum suggesting that the UTC7608D is equivalent to the SDC606P, a current-mode PWM controller. The datasheet for the SDC606P is readily available (link below). Based on my analysis of the PSU schematic, the equivalence claim seems to hold up.
