So many dumb ways to die for dummies.
They always do that, they make the guy/girl out to be the bad guy then show how drastically he/she died.

Funny i have not seen that one before. But back a long time ago a friend of mine who i think was in the air force at one time told me about horror stories about pilots or other technical personnel when dealing with these ejector seats. One was about a guy who bent down to fix something under the 'steering wheel' while it was on the ground. The seat went off and broke his neck off.

I saw another one involving a seat but it was just one of those rolling desk seats not an ejector seat. The somewhat overweight guy was sitting on the seat bobbing up and down for some reason i think because of what he was watching on his computer monitor, maybe something exciting. Well, those seats have a single pole that comes up from four sub legs that spread out and have rollers on them. The single pole is the only thing between the seat and the sub legs though, and it is positioned right in the center of the seat. After a time, the seat broke and his body fell downward onto the single pole which went right up his ###. It damaged his guts so bad that he died, i think of blood loss. That was nasty. I cant remember how they made him out to be a bad guy in that one though, maybe because of what he was watching on the monitor.

Hello again,

I used to get my alcohol from Amazon like for the past maybe 3 or 4 years even before the virus hit. I used to get a 6 pack of 32 oz for less than 20 dollars USD. That's 1.5 gallons for 20 dollars with free shipping.

NOW however, it seems that EVERY seller is gouging very acutely with the typical price being around 40 dollars USD per gallon !! That works out to 10 dollars USD per 32 ounce (quart).
My previous purchases totaled 1.5 gallons for one order, NOW instead of 20 dollars it would cost me 60 dollars. That is a markup of 300 percent.

I think this may be a case of reporting this because in the US there was a law passed to help derail price gouging in the face of the pandemic.

ShopRite on the other hand, sells some alcohol products at about twice the normal price but when they have regular 70 percent alcohol it is roughly the same price as it always was, to their credit.

One seller was selling 32 oz for 8 dollars, looked like a steal compared to the others, but then when i click on it i see that shipping is 12 dollars!! For one bottle!! That brings the cost up to 20 dollars for 32 oz or 80 dollars for one gallon!

Any thoughts on the price gouging?

I never claimed politicians -- or the general public -- were smart.
Hi,

That's quite amazing, cause i never claimed that Donald J. Boudreaux of wsj.com was smart either.
Isnt that amazing that neither one of us claimed anyone or any group was smart? :)

Price gouging may help to regulate supplies and thus more people can appear to get what they need, but it also locks some people out of that supply completely. This actually happened with alcohol and sanitizing products being sold for higher than usual prices.
Also, tell me one person that felt at ease when they went to the store and found prices ultra high. It also helps to raise the fear level.

I think what would be dumb though is to ignore the law and get fined.

I don't think they are ignoring it but rather skating as very close to the edge of it as they can without breaking it. Otherwise, haul their ass off to jail. IMHO
Well a 300% markup isnt exactly on the edge :)
But maybe they are selling from a more liberal state?

The two Georgia laws are somewhat vaguely written and wholly dependant on a very specifically worded "State of Emergency Edict" issued by the Governor. Otherwise, all bets are off and caveat emptor, let the market decide. Which seems to be the case now... It also seems to apply ONLY to such things as Fuel, Ice, Food, and emergency contractor services and materials to remedy/lessen physical damages to homes. It is different in each state and not sure if there are even provisions for it in the US Code.
