Do people not read I don't think I could write any clearer that that if you have 2 outlets surely there wiring would be sized
for a load of that size.

But I said that would need to be checked even if they used 18 awg at 240 that 16 amps.

I can't see from here but I would say the wire is a bit bigger 16 or 14 awg but even 18 he could use a small AC unit
most are like 8 to 10 amps.

BUT then agin he needs to look at the wire size and breaker.
http://cpwd.gov.in/publication/internal2013.pdf

That kind of tells you the wire is sized for 16 amps
The wire can not be sized for 6 amps each outlet is 6 amps for a total of 4
that's 24 amps the wiring is sized at 70 % of that they figure you would have no more then 2 used outlets At a time.

From that that pdf it said you wire boxes for 16 amps then it tell what you can do like the one shown he can take all the outlets out and fix like the one he said he had where he doesn't want the AC unit.

I would NEVER assume that just because somebody did something that it was done right. Even if that individual was an alleged professional. I have seen far too many examples of those who were supposed to know doing things wrong, mostly because it was either easier or cheaper.

MisterBill2 You seem to no a lot just answer one thing

The poster posted a picture of outlets there rated 6 amps each how could you get 6 amps out of all 4 if there wiring is only good for 6 amps you
can't the normal way this works is you install wiring that can do more then plugs need.

I'm sure if the poster looked in the box he could see it has the same wire as the rest of the boxes

I been doing this for 38 years now from 13,800 to low voltage
Whats (A) say

All the poster has to do is change to (c)
But now I'm not telling him to because I have no idea if he could do that or not
without getting shocked I have no idea if he knows how to shut the power off or could he hook it up like the one he said was in the wrong room.

But my bet is if he turned off the power open the one in the wrong place
then go and change outf these 2 outlets to match it where he ends up with
1 nos 16A and 2 nos 6 amps.

He will find that the wire is the same size breaker maybe smaller but it said there 16 amp. who knows I'm a long way from there maybe he's close to Parth I'll have him run over and look LOL.

The section of code posted has not one word about the wire size, or any reference to temperature rise,or insulation. Does anybody else see a problem there???

It's there code book it state's how work is to be done.

Guess you never read one it clearly tells you what a branch can have

I never seen a code book hold your hand tho I had to be tested in 5 states before I could wire a home or business or a plant there.
You had to tell them what your plan was based on heating and lighting loads and the footage of the house or building.

I never seen a code book from a state tell you what to use as far as wire goes I go by this
