that what I`m thinking...

I had second thought because it does not have a hole for mounting the heat sink

the old one KBU407G is mounted on a cobber plate/heatsink

I should say this is for a switch mode battery-charger (Mains power)

You will somehow need to mount it on, or clamp it to, a heatsink.
It will likely overheat and fail if you put more than about 2A through it without a heatsink.

There are electrical considerations but also the mechanical considerations. If you’re replacing a rectifier that was mounted to a heat sink, I’d keep looking until I found one that allows that.

I´m with you.
But I had a KBL410 lying around. and I only considered it for a quick fix.
I may still try it!

They sell spring clips you can use to hold a device tightly to a heat sink. Might be worth a try. There is also such a think as thermal adhesive, like thermal paste but adhesive.
