A TV show has sparked outrage in Iraq after featuring fake ISIS fighters who 'kidnap' celebrities, strap fake suicide vests to them and tell them they will be executed.
In the prank show Tanneb Rislan, terrified celebrities are taken to visit Iraqi families who they believe have been displaced after fleeing from extremists.
But once there, the duped participants are ambushed by fake jihadists and told they will be killed - until 'troops' come to the rescue and bring their ordeal to an end.

After reviewing surveillance footage, investigators realized the gun was actually a BB gun. They discovered the Scheels sporting goods store in Sioux Falls recently sold a BB gun to someone matching the description of the suspect in the security footage.
Detectives went to Scheels Wednesday morning to get security footage from the sale of the BB gun. While they were waiting for the footage, Kuper walked into the store. The detectives noticed he matched the description of the robbery suspect - he was even wearing the same clothing worn during the robbery. Clemens said Kuper had returned to the store to purchase another BB gun.

Police arrested Kuper for first-degree robbery, aggravated assault, and petty theft charges.

Interesting article, written with rather amusing wit:

A number of doctors rushed to attend to the President, one of whom named Dr Doctor Willard Bliss – not a typo, his first name was actually Doctor – would go on to be Garfield's chief doctor over the next few months until his death, after he declared quite dramatically “If I can’t save him, no one can.” It turns out that the best system for getting a doctor might not be to see who shows up and see who calls dibs, however, as many questions arose about his medical care, with quite a few of them being "what the hell?".

Four years a vessel's prisoner:

Aisha, as chief mate, the ship’s second-in-command, signed the letter designating himself as the legal guardian of the vessel on the advice of the captain, the report said. "I had no idea it was the biggest mistake of my life," Aisha told the newspaper.
@atferrari, I think you might find this story interesting. The cruelty of other people's apathy towards their own peers has never ceased to surprise me ... it's that kind of attitude "if it doesn't affect me, then it's not my problem" that I hate the most... complacency at its worst.
