'Bouncing' thief caught on camera stealing copper wire from Forest Grove brewery

 

My local electrical supplier showed me a video from his outside surveillance camera of a copper thief at work in his gated/fenced/topped with 3 strands of barbed wire open large spool wire storage area behind his warehouse. You see the guy climb the fence around 2 AM, spend quite a while chopping up wire and throwing it back over the fence until he has a pickup truckful. Then you see him climbing back over the fence, slipping and getting his ankle hung up in top strands of barbwire. And there he hung until you see the police find him hanging by his ankle around 7AM and getting him untangled from the barbwire and into the back of their patrol car.

 

I imagine that thief had mixed emotions when he saw the police.

A horrible accident ... the poor kid, one does many stupid things at that age, but I never did something that reckless and dangerous. This incident happened in my hometown, the picture was taken about 10 km from where I live.

 

And now I've learned from a friend of mine, that the poor girl is a personal friend of one of his daughters.
