Research measuring if there is a difference in temperature between the left and right testicles is one of the winners of this year's spoof Nobel prizes. Fertility experts Roger Mieusset and Bourras Bengoudifa measured the temperature of French postmen's testicles, both naked and clothed. They found the left one is warmer, but only when a man has his clothes on.

The IgNobel Prize is a quasi serious award given to actual published research papers of scientists for their obviously quirky thesis for research. Their site has videos of every? ceremony and are a real riot to watch. Professional Scientific Ph.D. EggHeads doing what they do best and that is usually ignored due to the somewhat bizarre content matter. And the people who love them for it.

That must have been heck of a weight!
I grew up around there and used to explore the palace grounds when a kid, my grandfather got caught poaching the Dukes's pheasants.:p

The baker, who runs the “100 Brote” shop in Bötzowviertel, at first thought the warning was a joke. But the Landesamt was entirely serious: handing down the threat of a 25.000 euro fine, they told Greve that the capitalised weights could be confused with the measures Kelvin and Gauss. When combined, the capital K and G could easily be mistaken for the abbreviation for a Kommanditgesellschaft business form - you know, precisely what you’d expect to see on the price list in a bakery.

In addition to his Blackboard, seems they couldn't resist taking further account of outdated equipment.

But the blackboard was not where the inspectors’ nitpicking ended. They also took exception to a vintage set of scales, which Greve displays in his bakery for purely decorative purposes. Upon testing them, it was discovered that - unsurprisingly - they weren’t properly calibrated. The conscientious inspectors therefore duly took note of the scale’s serial number, and a few days later issued Greve with an official warning.

LOL the scales were purely a decorative item. Bakers don't sell doughnuts by the pound. German precision and attention to detail gone awry.
