HONOLULU (AP) — The former police chief of Honolulu and his wife, a former deputy prosecutor, abused their positions in an attempt to silence a relative who could have exposed the financial fraud that funded their lavish lifestyle, a U.S. prosecutor said Tuesday.
...
Joseph Orabona, a special U.S. prosecutor, said the defendants conspired to frame her uncle, Gerard Puana, for stealing their home mailbox as a way to discredit him in his lawsuit claiming Katherine Kealoha stole money from him and her grandmother.

Greed, manipulation and abuse of power were at the center of the conspiracy that consisted of obstruction, lies and depriving Puana of his civil rights, Orabona said.

He said 30 Honolulu police officers conducted 24-hour surveillance on Puana the week she claimed he stole her mailbox in 2013.

The poor guy.

It was getting late, but the Landstown High School student wanted to make sure his uniform looked perfect.

The next morning, senior Cade Anderson would participate in a JROTC drill competition in Prince William county. As his roommate slept, he decided to hang his jacket on a sprinkler head in his hotel room and properly affix all of his ribbons and medals, an attorney said.

When he went to take it back down, the sprinkler activated — resulting in more than $690,000 in damage.

"It's a parent's worst nightmare," attorney Rick Matthews said in an interview.

To be clear: I hate Taco Bell ... but this bit of news seemed interesting and odd at the same time:

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/06/27/taco-bell-hotel-reservations-sell-out-in-2-minutes.htmlhttps://www.cnbc.com/2019/06/27/taco-bell-hotel-reservations-sell-out-in-2-minutes.html

If you’re a Taco Bell super fan looking to stay at the Mexican fast food chain’s limited-time hotel, you’re already too late. All available rooms were snatched up just two minutes into taking reservations.
Also, whatever they like to call it, Taco Bell is not Mexican food ...

Claw and order!
Targeted:
Anderson wrote on Facebook that the neighbor 'took our cat to the pound a few weeks ago because he didn't like that the cat was outside. We only found out because the cat is microchipped'.

'I think maybe I need to flyer the neighborhood to tell everyone to Beware- this man will knowingly abduct your pet,' the concerned cat owner wrote.

City officials have now moved to dismiss the charges against Milo, so Anderson does not have to go to court.

(CNN)Cartoon character Popeye is known for munching endless cans of spinach to boost his strength, and new scientific research suggests he might have been onto something.

A study released by Freie Universitat Berlin suggests that ecdysterone, a chemical found in the leafy green vegetable, has a similar effect to steroids and should be added to the list of substances banned in sport, CNN affiliate RTL reported.

The case against the 35-year-old Alabama man escalated June 17 when narcotics investigators executed a search warrant "that yielded meth, drug paraphernalia, body armor and a squirrel."

"Prior to the search warrant, investigators were informed that Mickey Paulk kept an 'attack squirrel' inside his apartment, and that Paulk fed the squirrel meth to keep it aggressive," the Limestone County Sheriff's Office in Athens, Alabama, said in a statement.
