A man on a Qantas flight from Melbourne to Perth, Australia, decided to check an unconventional (but totally necessary) item as his luggage: a single can of Emu Export
I was going through airport security for one of my trips down to Cozumel for SCUBA diving. I always carried on my gear (tank and weights were supplied by the shop in Cozumel) . I had completely forgotten about my knife clipped to my BC (bouyancy compensater ) vest. This was well before 9/11 so no big deal. I was just asked to check the knife. I had already checked my other bag so they placed the knife in a small box. Figuring with the layover in Houston and the tiny airport in Cozumel, it would be the last I saw of my knife.
I got to the luggage check and pick up up other bag, shortly after here comes the little box on the luggage belt. I was amazed.
