thanks gentlemen something to think about look into. I think for now just use the one direction it's ok. I might look into the bridge rectifier if Im up too it. again its very much appreciated. ill give it some thought.

 

thank you all for your input. I bought 1 analog 3 amp meter with display from -3 to +3 hooked it up outside of transformer in the negative side to track and it worked in both directions. hooked up volt meter to positive and negative track and it worked too. so don't have to open up transformer which im happy about.
