0-30V @ 10A is asking for a lot of power.

Try starting off small.
What exactly do you want to power with your power supply?
Look specifically at your electrical needs.
Does it need to have adjustable voltages?
For a lot of electronics experimentation, fixed 5VDC capable to supply 1A will satisfy a lot of experiments.

The first power supply I built was exactly that, 5VDC @ 1A.
