Am having problems using the site on my Samsung tablet (Android version 4.2.2). In portrait orientation the whole screen keeps getting overlaid by a blue rectangle with a menu tab at the top left and my user-name at the bottom left. In landscape orientation that rectangle overlays the top left ~quarter of the screen.The rectangle can't be re-sized.

 

PLEASE give us back the tool to insert Greek and math symbols simply, without having to learn Latex or jump through other hoops. Those symbols are essential to many circuit discussions.

Have you tried the “...” icon in the WYSIWYG?

I don't know if this is related to the upgrade or not. I just tried to change my email address. I tried to change it and was warned that I will need to reconfirm my account, so I logged off and then back on. When I went to change and save my email address again I got the warning:


Ok, I'm completely stumped. What to do next, change my password?? That doesn't make sense.

 

One that has been a long-term gripe of mine about ASCII Codes is nice to see. ∴ was somehow overlooked by ASCII and one I use often in math. the .: substitute just isn't right...

 

While we're at it, how about subscript and superscript?
It would be handy-dandy to be able to show 10^-3 and VBE properly.

 

So there are a lot of replies about symbols and no comment about the passwords problem. Somehow I automaticly log on from many of my computers, at least in this same zip-code area. But since I never post anything that I do not mind sharing, privacy of posts is not an issue. But if the system suddenly did not like my password that would be a problem.

 

Personnally I do not understand the seemingly excessive use of grayed out text in many areas, Why on earth not make it easy to read?

@jrap: Thanks for getting that installed.

The ones that I notice are missing are the superscript '2' and 'n'. I used those quite a bit. I have need for a superscript '3' often enough that I wish it were available, but can live without it. The "much greater than" and "much less than" symbols are frequently useful, but using << and >> works, too.

 

Wasted and White Space

Something really needs to be done about that, please. I already have my screen reduced to 90% and have switched my reading glasses from +1.75 to +2.00 ; I used to run at 100%. The amount of usable space in the reply window can be so small that with more than a few lines, one has to continually scroll to see what has been written. For me, that leads to a need for an excessive number of edits after posting.
